Education Services

Vacancies and internships

There are no full time vacancies at the gallery at the moment, but we are always looking for volunteers and Erasmus+ students.

No gallery experience is necessary but candidates must have an interest in visual arts, a good command of English, basic computer skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. They must have their own laptop that they can work from during the day. Photographic skills are a plus along with knowledge of social media and Photoshop.

The Olivier Cornet Gallery is launching a number of education and cultural services available to the public. These services include art classes, a Budding Curator course, art-based writing workshops and story telling events as well as French gallery tours.

'Weed and Wonderful': An exploration of Irish undergrowth with botanical portraitist and gallery artist Yanny Petters.

This course looks at wild plants and their history and relationship with humans. With a choice of either five or ten sessions, students will learn how to draw, design and animate the plants around them, whilst also discovering the scientific qualities behind each one.

'Budding Curator Course' (4th to 6th year students)

This course seeks to teach budding young curators the essentials of putting on a successful art exhibition. The course will be taught through a series of lectures and off-site gallery visits, allowing students to develop the basic analytical skills necessary to work in this trade, whilst also keeping in mind the topics needed to answer the final section of the Leaving Certificate Art History paper.

'French Gallery Tours':

The gallery always welcomes group tours and discussions. With his French heritage and background (he is a linguist and translator by training), Olivier is eager to facilitate French language tours of the gallery and its current exhibitions.
