The Olivier Cornet Gallery is delighted to present its 2012 Graduate Exhibition, curated by Kate Howard, winner of our Visiting Curator Award, an award created to give a recent graduate a chance to gain experience in curating for a commercial gallery.

Featuring selected works by recent graduates from DIT, IADT and NCAD 2012, this year's exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for the chosen artists to engage with a wider public in a commercial gallery context. The exhibition will highlight the variety of output by local emerging practitioners featuring a diverse range of works: from video to paint as well as photography and sculpture. Although always open to interpretation, the title ‘The Flâneur' takes its meaning from Charles Baudelaire who developed a derived meaning of the flâneur — that of "a person who walks the city in order to experience it". The works exhibited encapsulate and reflect aspects of identity, heritage, ritual, and social change.

The exhibition will run from 12 July to 31 August 2012.
