About Nickie Hayden and her participation in Drawing on Joyce, an Olivier Cornet Gallery exhibition, part of the James Joyce Centre's 2018 Bloomsday Festival, Dublin, Ireland.

Nickie Hayden was born in 1961 and has been a practising artist for 30 years. Nickie has been a director of two Dublin print studios and was on the steering committee of two major exhibitions; Revelations in the National Gallery, and Artist Proof in the Chester Beatty Library. Her work is in many collections, The National Gallery of Ireland, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Irish Bank, Allied Irish Banks, Office of Public Works. Enterprise Ireland (Dublin, Zürich, Stockholm, Boston, Düsseldorf) and The Ark.

Note on work for the show:

"In this exhibition, I intend to create a living stream of consciousness in the form of collected Haiku. These will be etched onto copper and placed on display for the audience to reposition, thus creating a different direction or emphasis with every change of position. I will also use old etched plates to make a new story, again echoing the idea of creating a new stream of consciousness out of something that has already been formed; pulling my past to my present and recreating the narrative."
