Cutting through Green - Orla Grant-Donoghue

A response to David Fox’s exhibition An Altered Land, first performed at The Olivier Cornet Gallery to celebrate Poetry Day Ireland on 2 May 2019.

Cutting through Green
By Orla Grant-Donoghue

A marked land
keeps us in line,
Grey rain falls
Cold.

Roads link
unrecognisable but
familiar landscapes.

Stop or yield signs ripple
in an overloaded world,
Unchanged

As the chaos of green
waits its turn
to take back
what
nature
owns.
