Yanny Petters at Hinterglasmuseum, Sandl, Austria
OCG artist Yanny Petters presents her practice at the Internationales Hinterglassymposion 2025, Hinterglasmuseum, Sandl, Austria
Congratulations to OCG artist Yanny Petters who is just back from the Internationales Hinterglassymposion 2025, a very successful and fascinating conference at the Hinterglasmuseum Sandl, Austria. This community-run museum is located in Upper Austria, close to the border with the Czech Republic. It’s a beautiful area visited by many hikers and skiers but was also once the centre of decorative glass production.
"I met with artists, collectors, restorers and enthusiasts who love Hinterglas art, also known as Reverse painting on glass.
This traditional art is in safe hands with Irmgard Quass and Christian Grinninger and their team. Painting on glass is taught at the museum and the exhibition there describes the fascinating history of glass manufacturing and painting in the area in great detail.
I was honoured to be asked to give a presentation about my work and how I have developed my own style of reverse painting on glass over about 30 years. Thank you for looking after me so well with all the lovely lunches and cakes to keep us all going over three days of excellent talks and conversations."
